In 1979, Wes Skiles and Lamar Hires met by chance at a dive shop in Jacksonville, Florida. The two shared a common love of the North Florida springs and after certifying Lamar as a cave diver, Wes found a steadfast friend and dive partner. The men went on to explore dozens of caves together throughout their 30-year friendship. Wes is loved as a brother and will be sorely missed.
