Ron Carlo
Southwest Field Rep, Dive Rite, Inc.
Ron began diving in 1970 in his home-state of Florida. He initially became an instructor in 1991 simply to learn more about diving, but he soon found educating others about the sport to be even more rewarding and interesting.
As an SDI/TDI Instructor-Trainer, Ron has certified hundreds of divers and instructors to all levels of recreational and technical diving, and has authored a variety of magazine articles, unique specialty courses and training outlines. Working with DiveRite, he has expanded the equipment-horizon for dive-stores and divers alike, both one-on-one and at larger dive-events. He has given presentations at multiple workshops and seminars, and has been a dive-travel expedition coordinator and director of training at several dive facilities.
His opportunities to introduce the sport to others widened dramatically with his increased capacities as Regional Manager of several prominent scuba-related manufacturers, including DiveRite, and International Training (SDI/TDI). His territory includes a large portion of the SoutWest US, and he is on-the-road almost constantly covering the territory.
Ron’s most ambitious project to date is trying to teach his 100 lb German Shepherd dog to scuba-dive, but he is having a little trouble finding a mask (even one from DiveRite!) that seals securely over Phoenix’s prominent nose.
