The Nomad Wing has more lift

By

The Nomad sidemount system has been incredibly popular and is becoming a great hit not just with sidemount divers but also Rebreather divers who wish to sidemount their bailout bottles. The Nomad wing had 50 pounds of lift but we discovered that after streamlining the air cell some divers were not getting the full 50 pounds of lift. As always we listen and we have worked to improve the product. We have added a side panel to the Nomad wing, which has increased the lift to 60 pounds or 27 kilograms. The new 60 pound model is shipping today!

The Nomad has taken on a life of its own and many divers are trying out sidemounting. To help divers configure their Nomad we have launched a series of sidemount questions on our Solution Finder. The Solution Finder is complete with informative video footage and will give you ideas on how to rig your light, route hoses and regs and where to store accessories.

If you have any questions don’t hesitate to contact us, we’re always happy to help!

Nitek X update

By

We are in the final phase of testing the Nitek X. The validation boards are on order. After the boards come in we will assemble the first ten production units and if all goes well we will give approval for final production. The Workbench for the X is being moved to a new server and we will have a link for it shortly. The screen captures of the software pages look impressive and are easy to navigate. We are moving ahead rapidly and currently everything is on schedule.

NiTek X Progress

By

After seven days of teaching I have the to say the NiTek X is performing as expected. While I am teaching I don’t pay as much attention to the computer as I do when diving it for evaluation. I discovered the Mix 1 default setting was missing from the NiTek X. We have specified that all computers in the NiTek family default to Mix 1 for the next dive after a ten minute surface interval. This is now being added to the NiTek X. You can override the default in set mode (for setting mixes) to start the dive on a gas other than Mix 1. Final programming is being completed and we are about to release the first 100 boards. The computer cases are ready so we can begin assembly. I will be able to give weekly updates from now on.

LED Lights

By

Our LED light has received a greater response than we ever expected. Our proprietary design has exceptional burn time and high color output. LED technology is a fast moving field with increasing efficiency and performance of the LED and drivers. Our vendor for the LED has implemented new QC/QA methodology to keep up with the changes resulting in a slowdown in deliveries until all the new procedures are in place. We have received a few LED modules but hope to be in full production by the end of June.
