Nomad EXP Sidemount Rig v. Nomad XT Sidemount Rig

By

The Nomad EXP is the benchmark for sidemount systems. Everything you read about a sidemount system is a comparison to the Nomad EXP. Its single piece construction and 60 pounds of lift make it the choice of cave divers for high volume steel cylinders and stage bottles. Since it is one piece divers can take it from box to water with just a few adjustments.

The Nomad XT is the sidemount expedition rig for guys like me who want to make sure they can adapt to anything regardless of where they travel.  Since the SuperFabric wing, butt plate and harness are separate you can customize it anyway you want and even cannibalize it if needed and swap out parts.

Soon we’ll have a Nomad sidemount system with less lift for aluminum tanks. Ideal for warm water divers or those who travel. Stay tuned.

  • Fabio,

Sidemount is for all types of diving. You can sidemount bailout bottles with doubles backmount tanks or you can sidemount tanks for ocean diving. You can sidemount bailout bottles on rebreathers. Your choice.

Look for more information on sidemounting soon on our website.

  • Hi lamar will the new system be built with the transpac harness as foundation or a new harness?

  • The Nomad XT is built with the TransPac harness, however since it is modular all the pieces are separate and can be changed, if needed.

  • Hi Lamar, on the website it is said that either the Nomad EXP or the Nomad XT is able to backmount double or single cylinder as well. My question is, I do not see any places to pass the straps on the back of the Nomad like the ones that are on the Transpac harness. Are they there or you must use a system with bolts and srews to secure the cylinders in order to use the holes in the soft plate of the Nomad.

Thanks, keep on The fabulous work guys!
