Sturdy, yet lightweight, our short backplate is ideal for petite women or any diver who is short-waisted. A full 2-inches shorter than a standard backplate, our short aluminum backplate won't dig into the lumbar area of the back and sits just where the shorter diver needs it - just below the waist.

Standard eleven-inch on center holes accommodate double tank bolt kits and holes along the perimeter of the plate allow for mounting lights, pony bottles, lift bags and other accessories. One-inch and two-inch slots along the bottom permit diver's choice of crotch straps. Two 3/8-inch slots along the bottom are designed to fit screws for attaching lift bag sleeves, sidemount butt plates or other accessories. Note: Standard, 11-foot webbing harness using a grommet to match upper hole placement on the backplate will not align on the small backplate. The webbing actually weaves below the upper hole on the small backplate so that the grommet will not be needed and simply reside below the hole.
